About Ridgeway Homes
A Laurel family builder, for generations.
Ridgeway Homes is the home-building company of the Ridgeway family, founded by J.W. Ridgeway, Sr. and headquartered on Ellisville Boulevard in Laurel. Some families have built with us three generations running.
Mr. Ridgeway built more than houses. He taught trades to the people he hired and gave them careers, and in 2024 the Celebrations Committee of the Pine Belt honored him with the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Lifetime Achievement Award for it. That same care goes into every home: good materials, a crew that takes pride in its work, and a foundation that's built to last.

Do you build on my land?
Yes. We build custom homes on your land or ours. If you're still looking for a lot, we can help with that too.
Do you help with house plans?
Yes. Our in-house draftsmen can design a plan from scratch or customize one you like, and we'll show you a 3-D design before construction starts.
What does a custom home cost per square foot?
There isn't one standard number. Price depends on your plan, your lot and the finishes you pick. We've built everything from economy-grade homes to entirely custom builds, and we'll price your home in writing before you commit.
How long does a custom home take?
It depends on the size and complexity of the home, permitting, selections and weather. Once your plan and finishes are set, we'll give you a schedule for your build.
How do construction loans work? Do you work with VA or USDA loans?
Most custom homes are financed with a construction loan that pays out in stages as the home is built. We've built VA- and USDA-financed homes and will work alongside your lender through each draw and inspection.
